Jerusalem, Wednesday, July 5, 2023 — The Jewish Agency for Israel’s Chairman of the Board of Governors, Mark Wilf, and President & CEO of Jewish Federations of North America, Eric Fingerhut, on Wednesday visited the wounded victims from Tuesday’s terror attack in Tel Aviv at the Tel Aviv Sourasky (Ichilov) Medical Center.

On behalf of their organizations, Wilf and Fingerhut delivered financial support to four hospitalized victims and their families as part of The Jewish Agency’s Fund for the Victims of Terror to help cover some of their immediate needs.

Today, representatives of the Fund for the Victims of Terror provided immediate financial support to seven victims of the attack in Tel Aviv. Just recently, Jewish Federations approved another generous donation to the fund, which often acts as the first responder in the recovery process of families and individuals who have been impacted by acts of terror and violence. The funds, which are raised during Jewish Federation emergency campaigns, are distributed to victims as quickly as possible following any incident of terror, and they are personally delivered in the name of the global Jewish people as an act of solidarity in these moments of acute crisis.

Established in 2002 by The Jewish Agency, the Fund for the Victims of Terror to date has supported 9,000 families affected by terrorist incidents and rocket fire, with grants totaling $20 million. The fund assists those whose lives have been torn apart by unconscionable acts and provides timely financial aid and hands-on assistance, including grants to assist victims within 48 hours of their homes being damaged by rocket fire; long-term aid for three years after an attack to enable victims of terror to resume normal activities and rebuild their lives; psychological counseling; job retraining; and camps for children to provide fun, calming, and restorative opportunities.
